Description
A Ponne Charentaise, originating from the south of La Rochelle and dating from late 18th, early 19th century. Traditionally used as a saloir for preserving meat in salt, this generous earthenware vessel carries a beautifully worn surface and the traces of its utilitarian past. Today, its sculptural form and remarkable patina make it a beautiful presence in an interior. Left simply as it is, filled with branches, or used as an oversized planter. A piece that brings texture, history and quiet character to a room.
